Soil Biology Health Assessment using Microscopy

Through the use of microscopy, we will assess the biological health of your soils. We offer full assessments, a quick look, or microbe photography.

A Full Assessment is a quantitative assessment which gives you an estimate of how many fungi, protozoa, and nematodes are in your soil. If we spot possible issues, we will let you know. Anaerobic conditions and root-feeding nematodes are some common issues that we can warn you about. The data from the assessments will come to you in a report, as an approximation of organisms per gram of soil. It will also include the Fungal to Bacterial ration (F:B), which helps us understand if your soil has the ideal ratio for the desired crop.

A Quick Look is a Qualitative review of your soil. We will take a look to see if the primary beneficial organisms are present, and if we identify any potentially problematic organisms.

Microbe Photography! These videos and photos can be a fun option for anyone in an educational setting. It’s also great for website and social media content. Most of all, this will help you review the health of your soil over time.
